TaBOR Breaking News

This evening, the Taxpayer Bill of Rights Amendment (SJR 88) came before the Senate Judiciary Committee and was handed to the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee. The bill received neither a positive nor negative recommendation during this process.

Essentially, it's neither good or bad news for the bill. The main thing is that it's moving.

I was also informed that it was ammended by Senator Bryson, and I should have a copy of the updated bill tomorrow (I couldn't get it electronically).

No word as to when it will come before the Finance Committee. I will pass along that information as soon as I find out.

Thanks for the heads up and keeping us informed. I sent an e-mail to Phil with a copy to Tom Peace at WLAC asking Phil to hurry back since we the people were being screwed. I told them that with 3 hours of Rush and 4 hours of Hannity
(the last hour being the "best of") worrying about the national Republican/Democrat who did/said what problems there is no one keeping up with the local scene and keeping the politicians straight---not necessarily honest.

Read Bill Hobbs' update today on the bill as ammended. (http://billhobbs.com/hobbsonline/003524.html) Bryson took the teeth out of it to get it passed. I've already e-mail Bryson to voice my complaints. I suggest everyone do the same.
