Nuclear Arms in Iraq?

News from UPI...I'm just passing it along. At this point it's unconfirmed, and I am skeptical myself:

Iraqi security reportedly discovered three missiles carrying nuclear heads concealed in a concrete trench northwest of Baghdad, official sources said Wednesday.

The official daily al-Sabah quoted the sources as saying the missiles were discovered in trenches near the city of Tikrit, the hometown of ousted Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

Again...this is unconfirmed.

Update...Iraqi interior minister calling the report "stupid." Like I said...I'm skeptical of the report as well. We'll see.

Is it journalism or rumor-mongering to spread unconfirmed stories about nukes or notes accidentally taken home? During Watergate, the Washington POST didn't run a story without three sources. Good lesson there.

So you are saying without three sources they should nothave gone forward with the story? When even Berger is admitting he did it then it sounds like they got it right. What did this Clinton era lacky steal?
"the missing documents are critical assessments of the handling of security threats by Bill Clinton's administration around the dawn of the year 2000"
Sounds like he is covering for his boss even now.

how many sources did deep throat count as?

Berger took COPIES of documents. No originals are missing, which is more than w can say for his military records.

If you're a Democrat, you're guilty until proven...well, you're never proven anything, just accused over and over until you become guilty by repetition

SAXBY CHAMBLISS – A RIGHT-WING SMEAR ARTIST: As the Dallas Morning News reports, the Berger affair "took on a slightly comic note" as Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) claimed WITHOUT ANY PROOF (how would he know that, anyway?) that Berger "put some papers in his trousers" (Berger categorically denies this charge).
Chambliss, of course, has made his career dishonestly smearing decorated war heroes who lost limbs in Vietnam, even while he refused to explain how he avoided all military service during the war. In his 2002 race against triple amputee veteran Max Cleland, Chambliss "ran a TV ad picturing Cleland with Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden." At the same time the ads were running, Chambliss refused to explain how he received three draft deferments – including two for a "bum knee" even though he still found a way to play baseball in college.

OH! Phew! I thought they were original top secret documents containing sensitive information about the US' weaknesses in protecting against terrorists. As long as they're just copies...that silly Berger!! It's no big deal. All that fuss about nothing.

No documents are missing. But that's no reason to pass up an opportunity to hate libruls.

But back to the Iraqi "nukes," notice that this story has disappeared. That means all the WMD lies are still lies.
