Quotes of the Week

Pat Buchanan wondering why several Senators are so concerned with Russia's internal affairs:

Why are these internal matters of the Russian republic any business of John McCain's? Putin is the elected president of Russia. Who elected McCain to anything outside of Arizona?

And, I agree with SayUncle that Gunner has most humorous quote of the week in regards to AL's sex toy laws:

What happens between me, my wife, the inflatable doll, the midget in the corner and the camera man is my own business.

are you saying you agree with Buchanan? that seems kind of bizarre, since you support the overthrow of a sovreign government in Iraq whose leader was every bit as "elected" as Putin.

and of course we best not forget your concern for Moldova, which you of course know is being oppressed by the freely "elected" Putin:

"Formerly part of Romania, Moldova was incorporated into the Soviet Union at the close of World War II. Although independent from the USSR since 1991, Russian forces have remained on Moldovan territory east of the Dniester River supporting the Slavic majority population, mostly Ukrainians and Russians, who have proclaimed a "Transnistria" republic. The poorest nation in Europe, Moldova became the first former Soviet state to elect a Communist as its president in 2001."

... that's if you believe the CIA.

I point out a humorous quote and you start drawing conclusions and parallels where there are none. Be careful...the black helicopters are coming.

Oh...and I need a little help in finding something. Can you help me find where I supported the invasion of Iraq? (Supporting the efforts after the fact don't count as I support the military whenever and where ever they are deployed.)

Thanks :)

The sovereign government of Iraq, huh? Is that like the sovereign government of Pol Pot. Maybe it's like the current day sovereign governments of Zimbabwe, Cuba, Congo or Venezuela. Funny thing, is the Iraqis could have written in votes for Saddam Hussein - if they wanted to. You'd think since he'd captured 100% of the vote just two years before that he still would have been a viable candidate. But then, that's just me making sense again.

Buchanan can be so absurd that it's hard to believe he is taken seriously by some people. For a guy who was so stridently anti-communist to say that when Russia starts sliding back into attempted assassinations of Yuschenko, the abduction, drugging and beating of political rivals and the suppression of a free press is no concern of ours makes me wonder if Bay should step in to keep Pat out of Justin Raimondo's mansteak for a while.
