Make Them Vote
I don't know why, but this from Drudge brings a smile to my face...
GOP Pulls Fast One...
Tells Dems: Pull Troops Now? Okay, then let's vote!!!!!
Tonight. 7 p.m.
Ultimate showdown
Interesting thing was that I was thinking the same thing earlier today. If the Democrats are going to make the media rounds grandstanding about pulling the troops out then why not make them vote on it? There's nothing wrong with a little, "put your money where your mouth is" action.
For or against the war in Iraq? I can see both sides.* Pulling the troops out now? Bad move.
(*Note: The reasons against going to war in Iraq would come from people who make better sense of the argument such as Pat Buchanan rather than the moonbat arguments of the left.)

Would withdrawal be a bad move? Sure. But no worse than leaving them there the way things are. My preference would be to negotiate a three-way split of the country (Kurd, Shiite, Sunni) enforce the borders until governments are formed and armies are raised and then -- we out.
However, if the choice is between "stay the course" and complete and immediate withdrawal, I vote withdrawal. The Dems AND the GOP should too.

I will grant you that Pat Buchanan's arguments against the war are as eloquent as any as I have heard. But, I have to say that most of the 'good' arguments from the left sound a whole lot like what Buchanan has been saying all along. I was amazed when i first read Buchanan's thoughts on the war because they were pretty much the same as mine (except much better articulated!).

When anyone starts talking about the Iraq War going bad now, I always ask if they opposed it back in Oct 2002 when Congress was voting on the war resolution. I called and wrote my Congressman and Senators THEN to oppose UNLESS they acted Constitutionally on two points with a Declaration of War and stopped the invasion of our own country first. Like Buchanan asked, "if we are in a war on terrorism, how do you fight it with open borders?"
