And that's why I decided not to blog
A friend who is currently serving in the Peace Corps in Kyrgyzstan recently sent an email to several people telling about how things are there. Slaughtering sheep and chickens seems to be a common occurrence among other things as she teaches English there.
Something that caught my eye in her letter I found to be interesting...
For those of you who have asked if I'm going to blog, I've decided against it. The Peace Corps was kicked out of Uzbekistan last year because one of the volunteers wrote about a massacre--and the BBC found it and sent it to press and upset the Uzbeks who apparently like to keep their massacres to themselves. So I've decided to stay away from that arena...
Those darn Uzbeks. Always causing trouble.
