Ok...I'm on the Bandwagon

Ok, I'm going to admit it. I'm on the Fred Thompson bandwagon. Sure, you can banter one way or another if he's really a Conservative or just a Rockefeller Republican, but when I look at the current band of pretenders I feel completely underwhelmed. My two favourites that are officially running now (Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo) have no chance. It's an honest assessment.

Sure, I don't agree with everything Thompson has said or done. There are big things and there are small things there that I don't agree with. However, Fred Thompson is much better than anybody else in the field right now and he can win if he decides to get in.

I think America is tired of the two-faced, double-speak politicians that plague both parties. What Fred Thompson offers is someone who doesn't seem to be afraid to speak his mind and say it in a way where there's not much room for wondering what he really means. Here's a guy (that can win) that has openly advocated giving states more power and speaks to the mission of reforming government bureaucracy all within the same week.

Hey, in all honesty, he's no Ronald Reagan...but he's definitely the best candidate with a winning chance we've had since Reagan. I have no doubts about that.

Now where's my Thompson '08 bumper sticker?

Update: My bumper sticker is on the way...along with a few extras if anyone wants one too.

So I guess I'm not the only libertarian who'd ditch Ron Paul for Thompson after all.

I'm still voting for Ron Paul in the primary. And I'm going to write him in for the November ballot. At the very least, my vote will no longer be going to who ever I think has the best chance of winning.

Didn't they say something similar about a straight-talkin' Texan who was elected? I bought it. Maybe my memory is bad.

They can't sway me anymore. They tempted me with something that talked about Reagan but didn't act like him at all once they got into office. No. Not anymore. I'm done with the Republicans.

You know, I was on the Blake Wylie bandwagon -- happy, nay, thrilled that he was blogging once more. But there he goes again... making it sound like he'll be posting his pithy commentary regularly and we're left waiting since Monday for a new post.

Sigh.

I'll guess just sit here, weeping like a 14-year-old girl who didn't get asked to the dance.

Dont worry Trent, I will take you to the Blake Wylie Blogger Dance once it's announced.
