Built in 1799 by Alexander Outlaw for his son-in-law Joseph Hamilton. Both of these men were instrumental in founding the States of Franklin and later Tennessee. (ref: Historic American Buildings Survey).
This building was recently added to the Tennessee Preservation Trust’s “Ten in Tennessee” list…a roster of some of the state’s most endangered historic sites.

Nashville Amplified

A few months ago, I was contacted by a company that was publishing a book to promote Nashville. They were interested in using one of my pictures. This became my first paid, published photo. When I got back from my trip out of town this weekend, I found the book on my doorstep. Nashville Amplified.

Brief Visit to Philadelphia

Flew up to Pennsylvania for a wedding this weekend. Yesterday, on the way out, I got a chance to get into Philly for a bit. As a lover of history (and liberty), I couldn’t miss the chance to catch a few of the prominent sites there.

Favourite Pictures of 2005

created a Flickr set of my favourite pictures from 2005. They aren’t necessarily the best…they were just my favourites. They are mostly in order starting from about March until December.
Enjoy them here.
And for Brittney: I was able to get only (the first) 36 picture into this collage, but here it is nontheless.

Zeiss Ikon

Not to be confused with the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, the Hassan Mosque dates from 1195. The minaret stands over the remains of what was left after an earthquake in 1755.
The [...]

Photoblogging - Ide

I did a quick photo shoot on Wednesday night for the band Ide who is just releasing their first album, ‘Apologies For Spilling Paint.’ Be sure to check them out.

Wednesday Barn Blogging

This is my second and probably last barn blog post for a while…mainly because these are the only barn pictures I brought back from Lynchburg last weekend.

Bill Hobbs has his barn blog post up today as well.

Today, I am crossing ideological lines to join with South Knox Bubba in my first, and probably last, Friday Bird Blog.

The above duck was hanging out next to the grainery at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg (other pictures from the distillery are here).
And, since I’m on animals, I did meet a couple of other [...]
