Millar exits Sinclair post

The executive responsible for WZTV-17 and WUXP-30 in Nashville and several other markets for Sinclair Broadcasting Group has parted ways with the company.

Craig Millar, vice president and Sinclair’s regional director since 1998, is “not doing anything now,” said a receptionist at the Fox station’s MetroCenter offices when quizzed about his departure. Millar was in charge of overseeing station operations in Birmingham, Ala.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Lexington, Ky.; Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.

Attempts to reach Millar were unsuccessful as of press time.

Calls to Sinclair’s headquarters in Hunt Valley, Md., confirmed that Millar was no longer with the company. Questions about the circumstances of his departure were referred to Sinclair executives, most of who were visiting Nashville on Monday, and a local human resources person.

Steve Mann, general manager for Sinclair’s Fox and UPN stations, was said to be in meetings with top brass and did not return calls.

Prior to joining Sinclair, Millar was president and general manager for KTBC-TV/KVC-TV in Austin, Texas, from 1995 until his employment was terminated in 1997, according to published accounts.
